I Need a New Raincoat

It’s 5:30 am, and I’m lying in bed wide awake with a warm butt pressed against me. On the one hand, I could get lucky but we were out late last night at a party and after only a couple of hours sleep, my partner is usually less than romantic. Around my house, I don’t bother my wife before 9 am at the earliest.

Sin City is a 24×7 town and now that we’ve lived here for a while, I’m not sure I could go back to Texas or the mid-west. Sure, Houston is a jumping city but it’s nice not to have to kick the cow shit off your boots all the time.

I was reading a blog post from my favorite author of smut, Lisabet Sarai. Lisabet is a highly educated author, you know one of those who type with her little finger stuck out. While I as an engineer and a male am more of a knuckle-dragging type. Sure I have a series of alphabet soup letters that I can add after my name to impress you but that’s not really me.

Today in Paradise

For the first time in several days, Las Vegas was bathed in sunlight. It has been gloomy and depressing in Sin City. However, nothing like most of the country is seeing. At least we don’t have snow up to our behinds.

I’m beginning to believe that Climate Change has been beneficial to Las Vegas, unlike other parts of the country. Our weather seems to be averaging out and becoming cooler in the summer and slightly milder in the winter. Unlike California, we don’t have forests to burn and unlike the mid-west and eastern parts of the country, we don’t have snow to shovel. As a displaced Texan, I don’t miss the hurricanes and tornadoes which seemed to roar ashore with regularity.

Winter in Las Vegas is somewhat of a joke. This morning it was 37 degrees Fahrenheit but will be in the mid-Fifties by lunchtime, and the sun is shining brightly in a clear blue sky.

My Girls

While I guess I’ve realized it but looking at my past book covers, tells me what my typical girl looks like. I do all my own covers and am not sure if I really appreciated how my preferences show through, but reviewing my typical cover says a lot about me.

When I design a cover for one of the stories I’ve written, I like for them to be simple yet get the point across. My covers all have beautiful women on them, and the vast majority look like my wife.

Foxy is tall and lanky with dark brown hair and brown eyes. Her naturally curly hair is styled in what is known as a Diva cut. Most hairstyles are cut wet, but a Diva cut is done with the hair dry so the stylist can see how it hangs. Interestingly, there are only one or two stylists certified to do a Diva cut in Las Vegas.
