For your reading pleasure, my highly successful four-book House Party series is coming to SmashWords, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Nook, and Scribd on March 25, 2022. This series of smut books were previously only available from Amazon, and I’m releasing the series using the SmashWords distribution system.

House Party also spins off in several unpublished stories as Larry attempts to deal with his porn star wife as she spreads her wings (and legs) in the dirty movie business. As my readers know, the fictional Foxy and Larry somewhat mirror our lives in the real world.

Being one of “those people” who swap wives and throw our house keys in a bowl, swinging has always been a lot of fun for us. My stories have reflected our enjoyment of the Lifestyle with few cross words between Foxy and myself. In an attempt to inject some change, I decided to break up Foxy and Larry to see what would happen. Although I couldn’t bring myself to stretch reality too far and have a pissing match on Las Vegas Boulevard, the House Party series adds some fun into our relationship.

BRIDGE Between Old and New Computers

The past several weeks have been an interesting transition as I move from my previous mishmash of computers to HP Workstations. Unfortunately, as a computer nerd and electrical engineer, I am often my own worst enemy while attempting to make progress.

So far, I’ve managed not to shoot myself in the foot. At least to this point in my coming out. I do several primary sets of tasks when sitting in front of my monitors. I decided a long time ago to set up a computer to handle specific workloads.

For example, one computer is dedicated to writing smut stories, graphics design of required artwork, advertising-related stuff, and jerking off. By configuring a computer to best handle certain activities, I’m assured that all of the tools I need are installed on that computer.

My second computer is configured for word processing, desktop publishing, graphics design, and computer programming. There is some overlap, but generally speaking, a specific machine does certain things.

What I had done previously was to add equipment when I saw the need; therefore, nothing is the same. While the appearance doesn’t affect the computer’s performance, it is nice when all the boxes are identical externally.

InkScape – Cover Design for the Masses

As an author of erotic stories, I sometimes need other things beside lube and my keyboard for satisfaction. Being a scribbler of dirty stories, completing one of my masterpieces requires a book cover to show off the contents. Also, the goal is ultimately to extract the pervert’s credit card from their raincoat to purchase a copy of said story.

Creating a proper cover requires a graphics design software package specially designed for the job. Certainly, products such as PhotoShop or GIMP can be employed, but my go-to program has always been CorelDRAW. Corel has been around for years and is a staple of the commercial graphics design business.

The biggest impediment for many authors is the cost of CorelDRAW, but there are now alternatives to be considered.

InkScape is an open-source (i.e., Free) software program for graphic design similar to CorelDRAW. Programmers typically develop open-source software as a labor of love and not money. As a programmer myself, I classify Corel and InkScape as object-oriented software packages.

My Cup Overflow’ith With Computers

“Come back here. I’m not done with you yet,” Foxy yelled.

My third HP Workstation is bouncing around in the back of a FedEx truck as we speak and will be ensconced with the initial ones this afternoon. Not having a house party to go to has changed my outlook on life.

What am I going to do with three workstations? I have plans for the first two, but the third is a mystery so far. I know that my wife is wondering about all of the boxes piling up in the living room. She’s biting her tongue to keep me from questioning why I have to keep ordering replacement credit cards for her. Hers keep melting in the bottom of her purse, and I can hear them whimpering when I drive past Neiman Marcus on the Strip.

I’ve divided my life into individual parts, like a schizophrenic who argues with himself over what restaurant to eat at and needs the third identity to cast the deciding vote.

Christmas in March

Today (so far) has been a great day. My additional memory for my new HP Workstation is installed, and now I’m running 128 Gb of RAM. I’m thinking about wearing racing gloves. It’s like going to a house party (swinger’s party), and all the wives know your dick is bigger than their husbands! My computer is bigger than yours!

Or like that time you walked sleepy-eyed down to the family room to see the Christmas tree and look for your new pony or your Red Ryder BB gun. That was before your parents told you the horrible truth about Santa Claus and how he would jump a 12-volt battery to Rudolph’s balls so his nose would light up.

Heavy Reading and Heavy Breathing

Swinger Stories Compilation #1 is three of my popular wife swapping stories bound together in a single 650-page paperback. This was my first experiment publishing a long print book and was yet another learning experience. Like when you touched a hot stove to see if it was really hot.

My experiment into creating print books is also getting expensive. The love-hate relationship with QuarkXPress continues unabated as I struggle to understand why Quark is an unforgiving and insidious bitch. Apparently, I’m the first one to discover this, as usual, because it seems that Quark also hates PhotoShop. Or maybe it’s the other way around, except it’s me with my finger on the hot stove.

I believe that Quark has a memory leak that Depends can’t solve. I’ve maxed out the memory in my desktop to 32 Gb, and that seemed to help. So, I decided to attempt to solve the problem with my typical last-ditch method, throwing money at the problem.

Amazon Is More User-Friendly to Authors?

Until recently, the use of Amazon and User-Friendly in the same sentence was almost a pejorative for authors, especially writers of erotica. When I publish a smut story, I hold my breath during the required “Review Process,” as I can imagine a group of little old church ladies sitting in a circle knitting while discussing my latest submission.

When you get the dreaded rejection notice, it contains a list of possible reasons that often trump the disclaimers seen on television for some new drug to cure erectile dysfunction or some other malady you are loath to discuss in mixed company.

On the one hand, you’d like to get lucky, but is it worth dying over a piece of tail? It always seems that the final side effect is always death with every drug.

Previously, when I got a rejection notice from Amazon and sorted through the wide range of possible objections, it was challenging to figure out precisely what they didn’t like? At least in my case, it typically boiled down to one thing, which Amazon could have told me to fix rather than play a guessing game.
