I’m Getting Whiplash

Today, my latest story Idle Hands has flipped back and forth between Safe and Adult at least three times TODAY!

WTF – I don’t know if this is a simple screw up but it’s killing my sales. You can watch the stories ranking tank every time it’s ranked Adult. Then the ranking will start to recover when Idle Hands is re-ranked Safe. Then it get ranked Adult????

I’m careful with stories I write for Amazon knowing how anal they are about certain topics. As an author of erotica, I try to walk the line as close to the edge as I can without stepping over to maximize the benefit for my audience. There is a lot of things I would love to write about but know that it would never pass the censor’s hatchet.

Trust me, I’m brave when I’m all alone! My latest smut story, Idle Hands, just got bailed out of the Amazon dungeon. You can imagine my surprise when my story immediately got thrown into the dungeon.

Normally, it takes a couple of days for a story to get ranked as “Adult” rather than “Safe.” While you’d think that erotica should be rated as Adult, that’s not the case. Adult means that the story does not show up in any Amazon searches and virtually disappears from the store shelves.
