Well I’ve finally given up on Apple and have ordered a new HP Spectre X360 13t three-way laptop with my earnings as a writer of smut. I’ve held onto my trusty 2012 Air and its never failed me but is getting a little long in the tooth. Wifey wants it so I’ll pass it along to her.
I kept waiting for a Kaby Lake cpu version of the Air but the MacBook Pro is apparently Apple’s answer to everything. A fully tricked out Pro is $4,300, which is obscene for a laptop, I don’t care how good it is.
At the CES show this year, HP introduced their new X360 Spectre, which is a combination laptop and tablet. It also makes a tent style viewer for what that’s worth. It’ll be nice to be back completely under Micro$oft again as sometimes switching between operating systems is confusing.
I’m just hoping that the HP comes close to being as nice to type on as the Air is. Apple went to this new keyboard to make the unit thinner and everyone says that it’s like typing on a iPad or a sheet of glass. The Air on the other hand is a joy to type on and if the new HP doesn’t come close, I’ll keep my Air and give Wifey the new laptop.
I ordered a fully tricked out one and it’s scheduled to be in my hands about this time next month.
