That’s right people, it’s not an El Nino, CO2, pollution, global warming, or any other man made act, it’s God’s wrath over abortion!
Think about that the next time you get an abortion because it’s less trouble than taking a pill, using a rubber, or an IUD. What your parents should have told you is that keeping your knees together would not only keep you from getting knocked up but will save Mommy and Daddy’s lush front yard.
Where do Republicans come up with all this shit? I’m a Republican and feel disenfranchised from all my other wacko party members. I used to think I was weird because we had wife swapping parties and orgies but some of the crap that has come out of my fellow right-wing nut jobs puts all of my stuff to shame.
I’ve just learned that California Assemblywoman Shannon Grove (R) suggested a theory that the state’s worst drought in 1,200 years may be retribution for California providing women with access to abortions.
According to the AssemblyWoman, she suggests Abortion Is To Blame For California Drought:
“I believe –and most Americans believe –that God’s hand is in the affairs of man, and certainly was in the formation of this country,” she wrote. “Is this drought caused by God? Nobody knows. But biblical history shows a consequence to man’s actions.”
So people from California, when your lawn turns brown, it’s your neighbor’s fault for getting an abortion, the slut!

I think whoever imagines that getting an abortion is easier than using a condom is highly delusional to start with. But hey, that’s nothing new!

True and I hope that you realized I was trying to inject humor and not some other fluid into a potentially life changing situation. Abortion is never a simple choice and I am amazed at people who seem to think that people use abortion for birth control. People at the bottom of the ladder often have few choices besides keeping your knees together and we all know how well that works. This includes your 14 year old daughter in the back of a Honda also. While I’ve screwed in the back of a VW, it isn’t easy but I’d never underestimate the drive of two hormone crazed teenagers. Somehow as people get older they seem to forget their teenage years and are quick to point out “Well I’d never.”

Yes, considering the rest of your post, I’d understood that this wasn’t an actual belief of yours.
I know that abstinence only sex-ed classes simply cannot work. Exactly because two hormone filled, sex crazed teens will have to be given better options. If they know oral sex doesn’t lead to pregnancy, then that’s an option. Even if there are some risks of STDs.
I have a perfect example of the person forgetting what he was like in his teens… with my kids’ father

And when I said abortion is not an easy choice, I didn’t mean just practically, which, let’s face it, it is in the States. Psychologically, it is very difficult too. It’s something you carry with you all your life. That’s why it’s important that there is counseling before an abortion, to make sure the woman understands this. But it shouldn’t make things so much more difficult for her.

Fully agree and let me climb up on my soap box for a minute.
I believe that when our right wing conservatives do everything they can to outlaw safe access to abortion then for every child they force to be born then they should bear the responsibility to raise and educate that child through college. It’s just like war, we send our young men and women over to some godforsaken country to get their limbs blown off yet when they come back we kick them to the side of the road. For example about 50% of homeless people are veterans.
