House Party 3 or HP3 was released a couple of days ago, and sales have really surprised me. This morning, it was #20 in Erotic Mysteries, #21 in Mystery Erotica, and only #35 in Lesbian Erotica. I guess all the fucking and sucking offended my lesbian readers!
Seriously, the House Party Series was started as an experiment to see if I could write stories that followed traditional guidelines as several fellow authors of smut have pointed out that a story needs conflict, resolution, and someone to hate.
As an engineer, I often struggled with the niceties in the world, such as which fork to use or how to pick your nose in public. We tend to be nerds, somewhat like Beavis and Butthead and duck, when social norms fly over our heads.
I decided with the original House Party that I would attempt to break the rut I was in and write in some conflict and resolution. I’m still trying to figure out who to hate, but I’m confident that it’ll come to me eventually.
The two fictional characters, Foxy and Larry, in my many stories, are roughly based upon our adventures in real life. As such, conflict has been a struggle for me as we only fight about things like deciding on Burger King or Jack in the Box for lunch.
Author’s Note: As I’m typing this, I just realized that I typed Burger Kink instead of Burger King. I guess that shows where my mind is! LOL
Another thing I tried to do was make my stories shorter as they have grown to the point 100,000 words is not unusual for me. I’ve failed measurably at that goal also.
The Cliff Notes version of the House Party Series are:
- House Party – Foxy leaves Larry and becomes a porn star in LA.
- House Party 2 – Foxy in LA staring in smut movies and Larry in Las Vegas diddling his best friend’s wife.
- House Party 3 – Foxy’s attempt at reconciliation and moving back to Sin City but continuing to star in porn.
- House Party 4 – Larry’s world starts to fall apart with his wife in porn and his girlfriend discovering her love for gangbangs.
- House Party 5 – Just a glimmer on the horizon for now.
Personally, HP3 is one of the best I’ve ever written, in my opinion. This whole series has been a blast, and I’m still holding my breath to see if how I portray Foxy as a complete slut, pisses her off. Luckily, she is a Luddite and refuses to read anything on an electronic reader.
Being in the Lifestyle means that we often apply different connotations to words like “slut” and these typically offensive words don’t always mean the same thing to us.
For example, one of the funniest things I think I’ve written is in HP3 as Foxy and Larry meet to discuss ending the separation. Foxy walks into the hotel room to find Larry in bed with four naked sleeping women.
Larry was wide awake, messing with his phone. Looking up, he smiled and said, “Hi, sweetie, good to see you!”
Foxy said, “I told the girls you would not be lonely, but I didn’t expect four?”
. . . (some nonimportant bantering)
“Girls, this is my husband Larry and his dick. Larry, this is June and Sasha, my girlfriends. I assume you remember Gwen, my bodyguard?” Foxy replied as she kissed him.
“Give me a minute to jump in the shower,” Larry replied.
“That’s okay,” Foxy said. “I wouldn’t recognize you if you didn’t smell like pussy.”
That makes me laugh every time I read it! It’s good when you can laugh at your own jokes.
House Party 3 weighs in at over 92,000 words and is in the typical size of a novel. So much for writing shorter stories. While I love to write longer stories, it’s a lot more challenging to publish a story that long and if I can stop at around 30K words, then the mechanics of kicking it out the door are more straightforward and manageable.
The House Party Series is only available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. I recommend that you purchase it through Kinky Literature as they are my favorite publisher of dirty stories.
Read the entire House Party Series for free on Kindle Unlimited!
Kinky Literature charges the same price as the final publishing house such as Amazon or SmashWords, Apple, or B&N, but you get the satisfaction of supporting someone with almost as dirty a mind as yours.
Kinky Literature makes their money in what is known as referral fees, so when you buy from them, you’re helping to support a company which is friendly to authors of erotica.
If you are an author of erotica, check out advertising on Kinky Literature as Richie and Randi will do you right. Plus, they won’t spray you with Lysol as you walk in the door!

Larry Archer is an author of explicit, HEA erotic stories, which are best suited to reading behind a locked door with Alexa turned face down to avoid hearing her displeasure at your comments made in the heat of the moment.
Alexa is a real hoot if you ask her how big her boobs are?

Weird. It doesn’t show up on your Amazon web page even if I do a sort on publication date.
If you search the kindle store for your name, it’s the first book listed.
I’ve noticed this with other authors, the listing you get for searching for their name in the Kindle store isn’t the same as their main Amazon page.

I think that sometimes it takes them longer than usual to add a book to your catalog. I don’t see it on my author’s page either and will double-check in a few days to be sure it gets added. Thanks for calling my attention to it.

Congratulations, Larry! Your success is well-deserved. And I think the success of the HP series shows that readers do like a bit of conflict with their sex. ;^)
