The Shrink by Larry Archer – Available Now

This weekend has become my perfect storm. I’m in the process of publishing The Shrink and generating the myriad of files necessary for the electronic (ePub), paperback, and audio versions. At the same time, I’ve realized that I’ve been neglecting Google Play Books and Books2Read. They have been in the corner, quietly sobbing in despair while I’ve been busy chasing skirts and abusing myself.

The Shrink, an 80,000-word non-stop fucking and sucking story, is finally complete and somewhat out the door. The electronic versions get kicked out of the nest first, with Amazon Kindle, SmashWords, and Google Play Books versions submitted and approved. Using Books2Read, I’ve created a common link to all the versions and formats of the story, including the paperback and audio versions. See this link; fingers crossed.

The Books2Read page for The Shrink is only partially populated, as I need to add in the paperback and audiobook versions. As usual, I’m trying to do four things at the same time, plus having to cook for myself as Foxy is out of town visiting her cousin. Who am I kidding? I married Foxy for her looks and those long legs, not her domestic skills. The only thing she knows what to do with a frying pan is hit me upside the head with it.

Writing Erotic Stories is not for the Weak!

The Shrink, my latest erotic novel, is approaching 80,000 words and is being finished for the second time. I think I was at 60,000 words the last time I typed “The End,” but ended up soldiering on. I’ve got two chapters to finish before calling it quits, and I’m fixing to sprint to the finish line. Next weekend is Labor Day (actually, Monday is), and that will be appropriate for finishing it up.

My goal is to publish an electronic eBook and a paperback at the same time. Assuming QuarkXPress doesn’t fail me, I should be able to do that. What I’ve been working on is developing the methodology to publish my smut stories. Writing is only one hurdle to leap over when you kick your masterpiece out the door. The mechanics of generating the final package to publish is reasonably simple yet time-consuming. Automating the process makes the whole process a lot easier and less error prone.

The Watchers for all you voyeurs

The Watchers (36,000 words) is a tale about Gene, an insurance adjuster, who is having a mid-life crisis after 20 years of marriage. Imagine that you’ve just finished a mind-numbing seminar and are sitting in a hotel bar having a drink when you pick up on the conversation two guys next to you are having about a Sex Show.

You hear the words “Sex Show,” and your ears perk up. As you listen, you discover that for one-hundred dollars, you can watch people having sex right in front of your eyes. For someone who looks at wrecked cars and damaged houses for a living, a sex show sounds irresistible.

The sex show turns out to be everything Gene could hope for and much more. At the end of the show, he discovers that one of the actresses is his sweet innocent wife of twenty years.

At first appalled, disgusted, and sick at his stomach at what he’s seen, yet he can’t seem to keep from looking at the pictures and movies one of the girls sends him. Discover how Gene attempts to deal with the fact that his wife is not who she seems and how is he going to handle this revelation?

Another Hot One in Sin City

Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, but in Sin City, there is no rest for the wicked. Las Vegas Boulevard, a.k.a. The Strip, is an excellent place for people-watching on a Saturday night when we don’t have a house party to go to.

Wifey had a poker tournament on the Strip last night, and I met up with her after she cashed out. Her Diamond status gets us into the private Diamond lounge for free drinks and booze. Most MGM properties have a private club for high rollers to escape the riff-raff. But the pickings were slim last night, and we couldn’t find another couple to hit on.

On poker nights, Foxy is always deliciously dressed with serious boobage to keep the other player’s minds off their card games. At six foot and barely in compliance with local obscenity ordinances, my wife is easy on the eyes.

The Shrink Goes Back to the Couch

I lost an argument with myself and am going back to the drawing board on The Shrink. Well, not entirely back to the drawing board as I can’t find my crayons, and most of The Shrink is already completed.

The Shrink is at 65,000 words, and I need to add at least one more chapter and possibly two. I’ve decided it didn’t seem to end as I’d like and need to add more. Typically, smut stories are short, and many are under 20K words, but I’ve struggled to write short stories. I think the shortest one I’ve done is about 13K and was basically a fuck and suck story, as we say in the Lifestyle. Most of my stories are in the 50-80K range, which is a typical paperback size. House Party became a four-book series and ended up around 250,000 words.

First, let me apologize for the Test post sent out yesterday. I discovered a problem with publishing to my WordPress blog that had slipped by their developers. As a software developer myself, there is a reluctance to admit your software is not perfect. As a user, that’s your first hill to climb, convincing tech support there is an issue.

During our over one-hour chat, we attempted numerous ways to replicate and correct the issue with some success. At least they are now aware of the problem, and I’m trying to understand how best to avoid the issue in the future until it gets fixed.
