Is AI Coming For My Job As a Smut Writer?

For a few months now, I’ve been toying with the idea of using AI to generate erotic stories for my adoring fans. That way, with AI generating my smut stories and the publisher sending my checks directly to the bank, then I can buy a place in the Bahamas with a native girl or two to fan me and wipe my fevered brow. Screw you, DJT, and the horse you rode in on for stopping the government from paying for my sex change operation!

Back in the real world, I’ve found that AI is helpful after waving my credit card around, but there is no panacea to help me push back from the keyboard. The fundamental problem that I face is training AI to replace me. As authors, most of us have a “style” with which we write. By that, I mean reading an author’s work, you can often recognize the writer’s name simply by the typical writing style of the story.

Like many other erotica writers, I do it because we enjoy writing dirty stories, not to get rich. Smut stories have moved out from under the counter at the local 7-11 to Amazon, Apple, SmashWords (D2D), and others to become mainstream literature. Gone are the days of error-filled hand-typed sheets spotted with unknown substances to slick publications that look like Playboy; smut has evolved. Kicking and screaming, erotic authors have been dragged into the world where proper word use is required.

Another big problem with AI is that most engines do not accept sexually explicit storylines. Grammarly Pro is my first line of support, and it will often balk at a paragraph that includes F’ing & S’ing language. Interestingly, even after telling you that Grammarly can’t help because the text contains “sensitive context,” it will offer suggestions on a sentence-by-sentence basis yet refuses to help you with the entire paragraph. I think that Grammarly is afraid to go all the way but will allow some basic groping in the backseat.

I believe Grammarly is well worth the annual fee for catching spelling and punctuation issues. In many instances, I disregard its suggestions for sentence structure since they don’t align with my writing style, but overall, it is a good product. The Mac version excels even more in how it displays suggested “improvements.”

I’ve been impressed with the AI program Magic Bookifier, which generates a short story using a couple of sentences to guide it. They keep promising us a long-form writer which is supposed to write a complete novel. But they wimp out on four-letter words.

Another AI generator I have is 1min.ai and so I asked it, “possibility of AI replacing authors who write erotic stories. describe the pros and cons of AI usurping authors who write dirty stories.” After plucking 8,496 credits out of my account, this is the result:

Title: The Steamy Shift: Will AI Pens Replace Human Passion in Erotic Literature?

Meta Description: Explore the provocative landscape of AI-generated erotica and its potential to disrupt the world of sensual storytelling. Discover the complex implications for self-published authors in this emerging digital frontier.

The Digital Seduction: AI’s Entry into Intimate Storytelling

The landscape of erotic literature is experiencing a technological revolution that threatens to reshape the entire genre. Artificial intelligence has emerged as a powerful contender in the world of intimate storytelling, challenging traditional authors with its ability to generate provocative content at unprecedented speeds. Self-published authors who have long dominated the erotic writing market now find themselves facing an unexpected competitor.

Unlike human writers, AI can produce content without emotional exhaustion or creative block. These digital wordsmiths can generate multiple story variations, exploring intricate narrative paths that might take human authors significantly longer to conceptualize and execute.

The Algorithmic Lover: Pros of AI-Generated Erotica

AI-generated content offers remarkable advantages that cannot be overlooked. First and foremost, these digital storytellers provide consistent output, capable of producing multiple stories in a fraction of the time a human author would require. The algorithms can analyze existing successful erotic narratives and synthesize compelling storylines that potentially meet reader expectations with mathematical precision.

Moreover, AI eliminates many human limitations. It can generate content without personal inhibitions, potentially exploring more diverse narrative perspectives and complex character dynamics. The technology doesn’t experience writer’s block, fatigue, or personal emotional constraints that might limit human creativity.

The Human Touch: Why Authors Remain Irreplaceable

Despite technological advancements, human authors bring nuanced emotional intelligence that AI currently cannot replicate. Authentic erotic literature requires deep psychological understanding, emotional resonance, and lived experiences that algorithmic generation struggles to authentically reproduce.

Experienced authors infuse their work with personal insights, cultural context, and subtle emotional landscapes that transform mere physical descriptions into meaningful, transformative narratives. The human capacity for empathy, vulnerability, and genuine connection remains a critical element that distinguishes exceptional erotic literature from mechanical descriptions.

Navigating the Collaborative Future

The most promising path forward might not be complete replacement but collaborative integration. AI could serve as a powerful writing assistant, helping authors brainstorm, overcome creative blocks, and generate initial drafts that human writers can then refine and elevate.

Self-published authors who embrace technological tools while maintaining their unique creative voice will likely thrive in this evolving landscape. The key will be adaptability, technological literacy, and an unwavering commitment to authentic storytelling.

Conclusion: A Provocative Digital Frontier

The possibility of AI replacing erotic story authors remains complex and multifaceted. While technology offers unprecedented content generation capabilities, the soul of intimate storytelling still resides in human experiences and emotional depth.

As the literary world continues to evolve, one thing becomes clear: the future of erotic literature will be a nuanced dance between algorithmic efficiency and human passion.

</End of AI Generated Content>

What I found interesting was the fact that the AI-generated content recognized some of its own limitations. I didn’t read the AI content until I pasted it into this blog post, and it actually did a halfway decent job.

However, even though it said, “AI eliminates many human limitations. It can generate content without personal inhibitions,” they lied as the program has personal inhibitions and doesn’t write smut.

So far, those of us who type one-handedly are still somewhat safe, but SudoWrite is beckoning us like the mermaid on the rock.

SudoWrite costs me nearly $300 a year, and I hope it will be beneficial. SudoWrite isn’t shy about using strong language, and I was impressed by its ability to generate character descriptions from the body text.

I fed it 40,000 words of a story I’m finishing up to see what SudoWrite could do with it. I was surprised by the generation of a detailed description of Foxy’s Mercedes AMG SLS sports car she drives. In the section on character descriptions it generated, I found an extensive portrayal of the car and its heritage, which caught me off guard.

So far, SudoWrite is a work in progress but may end up being helpful. At this point, I don’t see it writing stories for me. However, it was interesting to allow it to rewrite a chapter and then compare its suggestions to what I wrote. Although I rejected several of the sections, there were a few that I think I’ll incorporate into my story.

My bank account is flatter now, and I’m still unsure whether I’m wasting my time and money on AI. As an engineer, shiny objects always catch my attention, and AI is a particularly big shiny object.

AI has significantly improved the programming world. The latest version of Microsoft’s Visual Studio with IntelliCode and CoPilot are pretty proficient at completing lines of code. Once you begin programming a block of code, it instantly starts suggesting lines of code as it attempts to anticipate your programming needs. While it is not always accurate, it does noticeably reduce coding time.

As a long-time object-oriented programmer, I already think in terms of using objects, so some of the features are wasted on me. However, the ability to easily create code to initialize an object is helpful.

More to come as I delve deeper into AI generation of smut books.

I asked Copilot a rather clean but sexual kind of question and it told me that it couldn’t answer me – and wiped my question off the screen. I laughed to think that AI is a prude but, then again, the software was coded by people who were mandated to stay within the strictures of decency and morality so the thought of AI being able to write porn… just cracks me up.

As a former systems engineer, AI has great potential but science fiction has given everyone “Skynet Fever” as well as worries that they’re gonna lose their jobs and livelihoods to AI and because this feverish fear is very real, AI is programmed with limits and restrictions while being built on quantum computing platforms so they can better do what us lowly humans don’t always get right… like writing erotica which is still technically immoral.

I can imagine what Copilot will do when I ask it to write me a sexually explicit story that includes bisexuals – and I just might do that…

      I’m sorry Dave, I can’t do that!

We’re living in an era when 1984, Terminators, and Space Balls all seem to be colliding along with what’s left after President Musk fires everyone. And don’t forget the apes beating up everyone with a leg bone.

It is interesting to see what an AI program comes up with when you ask it a simple question like, “How do I get into my neighbor’s pants?” I’ve found it useful to ask AI to rewrite a paragraph but so far it’s been like Will Smith when he told his dog if he wanted to impress him, he’d get a job.

    That’s a very slick answer.

But I’ll bet if you do searching for some phrases on the net, you will find that much of it is plagiarized from some human-generated blog.

I’m not worried about being replaced. People who read my smut do so for the emotions as much as the actions. I don’t think any AI is going to get that right for a long time.

    xxoo,
