“The Death of Innocence” Cover Reveal

My next book, The Death of Innocence, is getting close to release. I’ve forced myself to stick to writing one book at a time – at least, that’s my current goal; maybe that resolution will stick this time.

This story will hopefully bring Larry’s runaway bride home for good and exorcise the demons who have plagued her over the last half-dozen or so stories. The twenty something novels involving the swinger couple, Foxy and Larry, have all been written in a generally continuous timeline beginning with their humble beginnings in the Midwest, followed by their move to Las Vegas.

Until the House Party series, Foxy and Larry behaved similarly to their actual counterparts upon which these erotic romance stories have been based. Twelve years ago, I started writing stories roughly based upon our experiences as a swinger couple. As such, the fictional Foxy and Larry would not do things the real Foxy and Larry would not do.

Fast-forward to House Party #1. I decided to let Foxy off the leash to see what she would do when left to her own devices and without guardrails. Foxy and I started dating before she was twenty-one and met at a photographer’s Christmas party. As a six-foot model, Foxy made the perfect arm candy and that’s all I’ve ever expected out of her. She’s never had any adult responsibilities of great import beyond which shoes to wear. When we met, I was a successful businessman, and she’s never had to work.

For us, our lifestyle was pretty much partying and having fun. My business didn’t require a lot of handholding, so we were free to travel and play. After meeting a swinger couple from Chicago, Foxy and I were introduced to a large swing club in our hometown. For us, the lifestyle was a gift from heaven. Foxy is an exhibitionist and loves to show off those long legs to her admirers and I enjoy the diverse company of multiple women.

I write in what’s called pantster style, or from the seat of my pants. A story plays out in my mind, and all I have to do is walk behind everyone, writing down the characters’ actions. Up until now, our fictional selves had pretty much stuck to the “actual” script, but I got to thinking: how would Foxy react if I put her on a longer leash?

In House Party #1, we attended a house party, and Foxy ran off with a movie producer from Los Angeles, who abandoned his wife with me. It’s completely far-fetched but follow along.

As it turns out, Foxy’s new stud muffin owned a movie studio that made adult movies, a.k.a. porn. Having starred in numerous amateur videos, it isn’t much of a stretch to see her make the jump to the big screen.

At this point, Foxy’s slide into slut status begins and while she realizes that Larry is not happy with her decision, he’s willing to give her enough rope to play. In the past few paragraphs, I’ve created a Reader’s Digest version of the House Party series of four books along with the three or four which followed but it would be more fun if you bought those books and read them for yourself. Keep reading, I’m almost finished with my train of thought.

As Foxy is off running amok, Larry is collecting girlfriends right and left. His current squeeze is a blonde television reporter, Sherry, who has moved in with him.

Foxy is beginning to realize that her side of the bed is being occupied and tries to move back home to Vegas. Her only problem is now she’s developed an addiction to sex partners and can’t seem to wean herself off the late-night booty calls she loves.

Foxy is struggling with her need for men and seeks help from a shrink but all they do is fuck. Then Larry meets a new dancer, Heather, who is a younger, taller, version of Foxy. This terrifies Foxy, and as Larry says, The chickens have come home to roost. That’s somewhat the storyline until The Death of Innocence kicks off.

Keep in mind that the divorce rate of swingers is virtually nonexistent, and letting my wife off her leash is not something we would do. In fact, Foxy has been somewhat pissed at me for making her fictional half a full-blown slut. In the upcoming book, I hope to bring Foxy back into the fold but since I don’t plan, I’m not sure how this is going to work out.

In The Death of Innocence, Foxy, Larry, and Sherry (Larry’s GF) are in his Suburban shooting a documentary on Larry’s strip club, The Fox’s Den. Driving past an elementary school, Foxy sees men with long guns outside the school who don’t appear to be police officers.

Larry stops the vehicle and moves to intercept them with his carry weapon. Foxy realizes that he doesn’t stand much of a chance with a semi-automatic pistol against AR-15s with 30-round magazines.

Foxy takes a Mossberg 500 tactical 12-ga shotgun from the back of the car and goes to help Larry. They end up shooting the gunmen and becoming heroes for saving the children. Several of the school kids were killed before Larry and Foxy could stop them but they stopped what would have been a major bloodbath.

This is how the title, The Death of Innocence, came about. Part of the impetus for the story came from the school shootings we’ve had over the last couple of years, especially the one in Texas.

Now Foxy is having to deal with the fact, she shot and killed a gunman with her shotgun. Even though she is a hero in everyone’s eyes, the fact she’s taken a life shakes her to the core. Piled on top of her other issues is almost enough to push her over the edge. Hopefully, The Death of Innocence will vanquish her demons and bring her back into the loving arms of her husband.

As an author, I’ve enjoyed writing erotica-themed novels in which I can discuss some of the things we’ve done after changing the names of the guilty to protect them. The Death of Innocence is currently at 35,000 words and should finish up at 40-50,000 words. The length of typical erotic stories is under 20,000 words. My stories are generally in the 50-100,000 word size or in the same category as a contemporary novel.

I’m Larry Archer, and I write erotic stories for the huddled and yearning masses. Foxy and I are swingers in real life. I write about the things we do and see, especially swingers, unicorns, Hotwives, and cuckolds. While the Lifestyle is not for everyone, it’s been fun for us. My smut is explicit and hardcore but with a somewhat plot. Larry Archer’s porn stories are generally positive and fun, as this reflects how enjoyable swinging has been to us. If you’re interested in checking out my stories, I publish at all the typical outlets.

“An erotic story of sex and violence”… Aren’t you a bit afraid that will turn people off?

Forcing yourself to write one book at a time, eh? How’s that been working so far? I found that trying to write one thing was kinda difficult because as I wrote, I kept having ideas for other stories and, well, you know how it is when you have to write it down before you forget it and the next thing you know, you’ve written five or six chapters of a book that has nothing to do with the current project you were supposed to be working on.

It hasn’t worked worth a darn so far. I have a whole draft folder full of stories that are partially done. At last count I had over a 100 partial stories started.

It’s publish or perish in the writing business and there is a definite downturn in sales when you haven’t published anything lately. There is roughly a one month honeymoon in sales after publishing a new story and sales will begin to tail off after a month.
