Swinging and Divorce

One thing that occasionally comes up is the divorce rate among those in the lifestyle. Searching the Internet returns both pro and con surveys, but most tend to show wife swappers have a lower divorce rate.

The current incidence of divorce among the general public is 50-60%, or approximately half of the marriages will end in divorce. And around 25-30% of straights will have an affair that may or may not push them to divorce court.

You’d think that perverted couples who throw their keys in a bowl and have their wives pulling a train would keep a good divorce lawyer on speed dial. But don’t be so quick to jump to conclusions.

In our experience, swingers divorce much less frequently than monogamous married couples. Virtually every couple that we’ve known for years is still together. To be fair, some qualifications go with my opinion.

Marriages headed into the toilet will not be saved by swinging from what I’ve seen. If you’re already having problems, knocking boots with someone else’s wife isn’t going to help matters. Also, if both people aren’t interested in swinging, then it’s not likely to work either.

There is certainly an adjustment period for the new couple, but this is often a small hill to climb. Foxy and I were lucky to be introduced to a large, established group of amazing people. My wife was very understanding and overlooked my kid locked in a candy store attitude.

Doing a Google search or asking Alexa for research on swingers and divorce will typically return a mixed bag of results. Just asking the simple question, “How many couples swing?” yields a wide array of answers. Determining what percentage of marrieds are in the lifestyle is difficult enough to figure out.

The people we know are typically a committed couple and have a solid relationship. Swingers realize that sex and love are two different things and are one of the defense mechanisms to keep the relationship operating correctly. Deciding to party with someone does not involve three hours of making out and checking each other’s tonsils. It’s pretty much climb into bed and get down to business. For me, giving some girl a back massage will get me into trouble, yet fucking her brains out won’t even raise an eyebrow. My biggest problem is typically having Foxy take her away from me, and then I have to settle for sloppy seconds. When you and your wife both like the same type of girl, it can be a problem deciding who gets her first.

Everyone has a different story on how they got into swinging. When we were dating, I read that a bar catering to swingers was opening in the Midwest town that we lived in. I asked Foxy if she’d be interested in attending, and she said, “Why not!” We never did anything about it, which was mainly my fault as I didn’t know anything about the lifestyle and dragged my feet.

One night, she was out with her girlfriends and called to say she’d met a couple from Chicago and was bringing them home. As it turned out, the couple was in town to attend a party and introduced us to the local group that had existed for many years. That introduction has lasted for years, and we often talk about how much fun we’ve had. Once you’re in the lifestyle, picking out those around you with similar interests becomes easier.

We run with couples typically in their thirties and forties, but some are senior citizens and a few twenty-somethings. Couples often need to invigorate their relationship after 7-10 years of marriage. Swinging tends to improve your sex life for some reason. Going to a house party and getting some strange stuff always seems to make you horny.

Swinging is what got me into writing erotic stories, as it gives me an outlet to talk about the things we’ve seen and done. As sitting in the break room discussing how great the girl you got with last night was not an acceptable conversation topic, I needed another outlet.

My stories are explicit and full of sex scenes, as I assume my readers are looking for hot action and not discussing the weather. And truthfully, we don’t have quite as much fucking and sucking in real life, but it’s fun to write about all the good times.

Like there is no crying in baseball, my erotic romance stories are explicit, humorous, and positive, which has been our experiences in the swing scene. I enjoy writing about Hotwives and their cuck husbands. Other authors often picture the hubby as a humiliated man forced to watch his slut of a wife submit to every dick in town. Larry Archer’s Hotwives are the envy of their partners and spend most of their time jerking off as they watch their slut of a wife get her brains fucked out.

In our circle of party animals, there are several couples whose husband rarely has sex but loves watching their wife in action. There is no fighting beyond who gets to stand closest to the bed. One of our closest friends is a Hotwife – cuckold couple, and I’ve never seen him do anything beyond jack off as his gorgeous MILF wife takes care of business. As normally a Bull, I service his wife regularly which keeps him happy.

I’m Larry Archer, a simple writer of smut stories in both print, electronic, and audiobook
format. Foxy and I are swingers in real life, and I write about the things we
do and see. While the Lifestyle is not for everyone, it’s been fun for us. My
smut is explicit and hardcore but with a somewhat plot. My porn stories are
generally positive and fun as this reflects how enjoyable swinging has been to
us. If you’re interested in checking out my stories, I publish at all the typical outlets.

    Hi Larry!

Lots of couples use sexual fantasy to spice up their sex lives. Swingers simply turn those fantasies into realities.

It’s an interesting chicken-and-egg question: do swingers start out by trusting their partners more, thus enabling them to plunge into the scene? Or does the practice of swinging, then going home with your spouse, lead to greater trust?

    Great post!

      Happy Holidays Lisabet,

I never thought about trust in that sense. We were always open with each other, and it was possibly being open to trying new adventures and expanding our horizons. You always give me something to think about.

All I know is that going to a house party always means that you spend the rest of the weekend in bed together. I’ve heard the same comment from a number of other couples that swinging energizes your own sex life. Voyeurism plays a big part, and there is always a lot to watch at a party.

    • I only have limited experience with swinging (though I engaged in it for many years, I am far from doing anything of the sort at the moment. Anything really! 😉 )
My experience is that you have to not view swinging as a problem of ‘fidelity’, thus in a sense you need to trust your partner more.
Or is it trust your own worth more, that they will still pick YOU even when they have so many items on the menu?
This said, experiencing such fantasies in real life means that you do grow closer, because you have adventures together (if you both enjoy them, of course).

I think both aspects play a role, but it has to start with trusting your partner (and yourself) more to begin with.
