As an author of erotica, my job is to entertain you by telling dirty stories. I’m a compulsive reader myself and have been all my life. I believe that with the pressures of the world today, we need the ability to escape into a fantasy world even for a few minutes.
As a kid in school, I read a book about Walter Mitty, who lived in a fantasy world conjured up by his imagination. He would fantasize about being a jet pilot, a policeman, or anything that struck his fancy. I guess in a way, I try to do those things for my readers.
While I’ve never written about being a jet pilot, my goals in writing are a lot more in the gutter than in the blue sky. Like Jerry Garcia, of the Grateful Dead, said, “What a long strange trip it’s been.” This fall will be eight years of writing smut, and it has been an exciting and strange trip except with fewer mushrooms.
Foxy and I lead three separate lives, and it’s sometimes interesting to juggle them. We’ve been in the Lifestyle for a while, and you have to keep that from the straight world. What you quickly learn when you start throwing your house keys in a bowl is that you now have two sets of friends, straight and swingers.
Being a swinger is kind of like being gay. While people now pretty much accept LBGTQ people, swingers are not so lucky. We are still classified as perverts by a lot of people. Back home, in our crowd, there was even a minister and his wife, who were swingers, which to me, also seemed strange.
We have two sets of little black books (now they are electronic) to keep our straight friends separated from our Lifestyle couples. That has worked out reasonably well so far, except for a couple of incidents.
We’ve always tried to keep a distance from our neighbors and not make close friends with them out of fear that something will go wrong. One of my recent novels, Crashing the Swinger’s Pajama Party, was based upon an actual incident, which occurred at one of our annual New Year’s Eve Pajama Parties. Our PJ parties are typically 100-120 people jammed into our house.
One New Year at around 1 AM, the doorbell rang, and like an idiot, I answered the door. Opening the door, I found a couple all dressed up that we somewhat knew from several houses down the street. They had come home from a party and seeing the line of cars decided to crash ours.
I was in a bathrobe, and Foxy walked up in her typical PJ outfit of longjohns with some type of animal such as teddy bears on them, except that she wore the longjohns unbuttoned most of the way down, with nothing underneath.
They stepped into a house full of naked or semi-naked people running around. The shock was apparent, and they quickly left except the wife asked her husband if they could stay, but it was too much for him.
The other event that sticks in my mind is one day my sister-in-law is in my photography studio and starts studying the display of pictures I had up on the wall. She made a little comment of the nude I had of a woman in our pool. She had met the couple as they are our best friends and also swingers. I think she wondered why I would have naked pictures of some guy’s wife, which is why you need to keep the two groups of people separate.
Now that I write smut stories, that’s another group to deal with.
Writing erotica is fun because it gives me a chance to talk about some of the things we’ve done or seen in our travels. A lot of writers have to fantasize about what could happen, but in most cases, we’ve been there and done that, so it’s easier to write from first-hand experience.
I like to create fictional characters based upon people we know and give them fictitious names to protect the guilty. By basing characters on their counterparts, it’s easy to write about how they would react to a situation.
Of course, my biggest screwup was creating the fictitious couple, Foxy and Larry. I know I should have used Tom and Suzy. Still, initially, I never realized that I would end up publishing over thirty novels or novellas with a significant percentage of them involving the fictitious duplicates of us.
Foxy and Larry are like us with the same opinions and beliefs, except a little more over the edge at times. Well, other than the fact we don’t own a strip club and don’t have more money than God.
Having characters like us has also somewhat got me in trouble. In House Party, I decided to try and throw in some conflict and resolution. In the story, we met a couple from LA, and Foxy chose to run off with him.
This breaks every rule in swinging, and you don’t leave with someone else. Love doesn’t enter into the equation. It’s sex and nothing else. The story turned out pretty good, and at 85,000 words is a long read, suitable for several trips to the bathroom.
Now, I’m trying to get them back together and have written another 90,000-word unpublished story House Party 2, but I’m still trying to patch up the marriage. At the suggestion of fellow author Lisabet Sarai, I’ve decided to break the story up into smaller, more manageable stories.
Then I got a wild hair and wrote the first story in my new Cuckold Club series, which is all about cuckolds and Hotwives. Cuckold Club – First Date is doing well, and I’ve started the second story in the series.
Like the old saying, when you’re in a hole, stop digging! At this point, I’m now working on two different theme stories and trying to finish all of them.

XOXO Foxy and Larry
You should be grateful for your seemingly inexhaustible imagination, Larry (rather like your characters’ libido LOL).
Congratulations on the new release. Dynamite first scene, by the way!

I’m glad you liked it. I decided to jump straight to the action and then lay the groundwork afterward.
You mentioned “smut stories” group, just curious, have you ever met Matthew Lee?
His books usually have the characters living in Las Vegas, so I have the impression that’s where he lives.
He writes some of the best hotwife/cuckold stuff out there IMHO.
