My trusted 1973 Corvette just turned 45 and is still tearing up asphalt everywhere it goes! When we lived in the mid-West, I had an urge for a nice toy and found a well kept single owner 1973 Elkhart Green Corvette convertible with matching hardtop, 350 L82 Engine, 4-Speed, and box stock except for stainless-steel brake calipers.

It’s our occasional weekend car for attending house parties and taking road trips around the Southwest. I don’t drive it as much as I used to as the weather here in Las Vegas is not that conducive to drive a convertible.

During the summer days, it’s hard to be cool at 115F and often at night, it’ll be 110 after the sun goes down. Our daily drivers have sunroofs but the sun is so bright that you’re forced to wear a ball cap just to keep the glare off.

Wifey used to love to lay out by the pool and work on her all over tan to make sure she didn’t have any tan lines. Here she lays out a lot but under the shade of the patio as the sun is just too brutal.

My wife is really health conscious and often does free breast exams for our guests. 🙂

Of course, I really can’t complain that much as it rarely freezes in Sin City and even then it only lasts until the sun comes up. We have about eight months of great weather and only four months or so when the A/C is needed.
