A week, after I republished The Shrink to SmashWords after initially publishing it to Draft2Digital, the change in sales continued to show impressive results.
Today, 2-Nov-2023, seven of my books are listed in the first three pages of the Erotica | Action Adventure Best Seller lists. My House Partyseries is on the first page of the Box Set Best Seller list. House Party is also on the Top Series Starter’s list top page.
I’m seeing decent sales on Draft2Digital, but nothing like the change that appears to be initiated by publishing to SmashWords.
I’ve just recently passed 6,000 books sold through SmashWords, which is pretty cool. If you write erotica, SmashWords is a good choice for publishing your stories. I write primarily erotic romance stories with an emphasis on erotic.
After all the kids are fast asleep in a sugar-infused coma, it’s time for the big kids to go out and play. We’ve decided to opt for the house party instead of watching the tourists on the Strip. An older couple we know has regular house parties. They’ve been in the Lifestyle for a long time and always have a great group of people attending.
For all you single girls and unicorns out there, be careful about what you drink if you are not at a house party. It’s easy for someone to slip you a roofie and turn a fun night into a nightmare.
Where is Elvira when we need her? It was a simpler time, nothing to worry about except boobs, legs, and shiny objects. Now, it seems as if wackadoodles are everywhere. Why can’t we just all get along?
The amount of fighting and animosity going on is unbelievable, and I’m just talking about the Republican Party. Much less the new conflicts in Gaza along with the Ukraine. The loon in Maine who took out his problems before checking out himself is indicative of society’s issues.
You are probably tired of hearing about this, but I’m positively blown away by the results of switching to SmashWords from Draft2Digital. As you may know, D2D acquired SmashWords and has somewhat folded the two organizations together.
SmashWords has always one of the top places to publish erotica, especially those stories that will get you thrown in the dungeon elsewhere. SW turns a blind eye to most subjects, not on the short list of no-nos, such as underage and family stuff.
I’ve always moderated my writing to meet the standards of Amazon and Apple. Apple users are a horny lot and buy a boatload of my smut, so I don’t want to offend the fruit lover’s company. I don’t know if it’s because they are so nerdy they can’t get a date, but I don’t care as long as their credit card doesn’t bounce.
On the positive side, I write explicit sex stories that keep the Kleenex people and Eveready battery rabbits in business without flying too close to the sun.
SmashWords has been good to me for the last twelve years, and I’ve worried about their acquisition by D2D. After penning my latest masterpiece, The Shrink, I decided to give Draft2Digital a shot. At 80,000 words or 240 printed pages or almost eight hours of smut whispered straight to your brain, it was a neat story for me to serve up to my readers.
I write erotica because I enjoy it and hope that it provides the reader with the necessary stimulation that he or she needs. Being a swinger has meant that we’ve been there and done that in most cases, often with messy results. Usually, creating a scene in one of my stories will be simply rewriting some event that occurred at a house party. With the names changed to protect the guilty of course.
Wifey and I have been lucky in that our initial experiences were at a well-established large Lifestyle group in the Midwest. The dances would often be several hundred couples. We would take over a small hotel or at least several floors. The people were typically upper middle class, including a state senator, doctors, lawyers, and even a preacher (if you can believe that).
This has provided me with a never-ending source of ideas for my stories. Moving to Las Vegas has been more of the same, except COVID has dampened the party scene somewhat. It’s getting better, but not like it was.
So when I published The Shrink, I hoped for decent sales, but SmashWords and Draft2Digital sales figures were disappointing. I was seeing Amazon and Apple sales as usual, but SmashWords was really quiet.
On the first page of Trending Now for today, 2023-10-27, four of my stories are listed together as shown below:
Most porn stories are short and you’re lucky to be able to get off while reading the entire story, but if you turn on the Over 50K Words filter in Trending Now under Erotica || Action Adventure, you are left with seven stories. Of which, three of the seven are Larry Archer’s erotica, as most of my stories are north of 50,000 words.
Now if you switch to Bestselling Box Sets, you’ll my House Party series of four books listed. Speaking of House Party, the good folks at Kinky Literature are featuring House Party on the front page of their site today.
When you need relief, my one-stop recommendation is to visit Kinky Literature for all your smut needs. Stories are the same price, and you’ll find all of the best erotica from all the popular authors in one place. Just think of all the mouse clicks you’ll save and leave your hands free for more important business!
Kinky Literature carries smut from SmashWords, Amazon, and all the top publishers delivered to you in one neat package.
After less than a week of switching to SmashWords, I’ve seen a substantial boost to my sales of erotic and can recommend that approach. Unlike visiting the blue-haired lady at the local bookstore, you won’t get sprayed with Lysol when you buy your smut.
I’m Larry Archer, and I write erotic stories for the huddled and yearning masses. Foxy and I are swingers in real life. I write about the things we do and see, especially swingers, unicorns, Hotwives, and cuckolds. While the Lifestyle is not for everyone, it’s been fun for us. My smut is explicit and hardcore but with a somewhat plot. Larry Archer’s porn stories are generally positive and fun, as this reflects how enjoyable swinging has been to us. If you’re interested in checking out my stories, I publish at all the typical outlets.
Larry Archer’s erotic romance stories are available in electronic, paperback, and audiobook formats. Click this link for more on Larry Archer’s erotica.
As a long-time writer of erotic stories, I’ve had a SmashWords account for over ten years. I’ve always liked SmashWords as they were less likely to throw you under the bus for breaking the rules. Amazon will put you into the dungeon over minor issues.
I quickly learned my lesson and tailored my stories to be acceptable to Amazon. After getting my knuckles rapped a couple of times, I’ve learned how to appease the censors for the most part.
Another great thing about SmashWords is that they automatically push your stories out to other publishers, such as Apple, B&N, Kobo, and Scribd. My stories always seem to sell on Apple, and it’s nice not to have to do anything except go to the bank.
Then, a while back, SmashWords merged with Draft2Digital and promised that nothing would change. The one good thing out of the merger was Books2Read.com, which provides links to my stories from all the publishers as well as all of the formats, such as electronic, paperback, or audiobook.
For the most part, life is good in Sin City. I’m working on a new Foxy & Larry novel that traipses in the dark underworld of sex, BDSM, and exploitation. I don’t want to give the storyline out yet, but I think it’ll be an interesting story. I’m assuming it will end up HEA but I never know how my stories will end up. Check out the excerpt at the end of this post.
I write from the seat of my pants, or a “pantser” as it’s known. This means that I have a general idea of where I’m headed, but there are often detours along the way. I’ve published forty-plus novels and novellas without having a clear idea of who ends up fucking the heroine until the end.
I’ve had a number of stories where I had to rewrite the beginning as the story took a turn I never expected. Then, after a sharp left turn, I would have to redo the beginning to make the storyline plausible.
I’ve never been a deeply religious person and was always taught just to do the right thing. As an altar boy, the thing I remember was drinking wine behind the altar, but that’s a story for another time.
When a woman atoning for past sins heals the human avatar of an ancient god, she’s drawn into a perilous dance of destiny and desire.
From the first, Dr. Elena Navarro senses that the wounded man she discovers outside the gate of her rural clinic is not an ordinary mortal. With his chest ripped open, Jorge Pélikal still demonstrates unnatural strength and power. Elena is irresistibly attracted to Jorge, although he warns her their coupling could open the gates of chaos and cost her life. Despite his dire predictions, they fall in love. Gradually Elena comes to understand that Jorge is a supernatural player in a cosmic drama that will determine the fate of the earth and of mankind—and that even if he triumphs in his apocalyptic struggle with his nemesis, she may lose him forever.
Note: Serpent’s Kiss was previously published by Totally Entwined. This new edition has been re-edited, revised and expanded.
Reader Advisory: This book may not be appropriate for individuals with a fear of snakes.
Foxy and Larry attend a pool party hosted by a couple of swingers they know. While at the party they meet a new couple, Mike and Cindy. While getting to know them, they introduce the husband to the Hotwife pool hostess, leaving them to take care of his wife.
Cindy feels at ease with Foxy and Larry and quickly forgets about what her husband is up to. Foxy finds that Cindy is as eager and open-minded as she is beautiful. After a hot and steamy threesome, they take Cindy back to their house for more fun.
In the morning, Cindy is introduced to the sexy widow who lives next door and comes over for coffee and early morning satisfaction.
This adults-only story contains explicit bareback sex scenes, swingers, wife swapping, 3-somes, girl-on-girl, oral, and all around hot times in graphic detail as only Larry Archer can write it.
Last night seemed like the old days when it was party till you drop. I guess I’m getting old when dancing on a table with a lampshade on my head is not as much fun as it used to be. Well, that’s a little bit of an exaggeration. You can never find a good lampshade when you need one.
The crowd we run with in Sin City has been pretty quiet over the last couple of years, with COVID putting a dampener on a lot of things. Things have been getting better, but the scourge of COVID still seems to hang around. But, while it hasn’t entirely gone away, the fingers around your neck seem looser. Last night, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel, and luckily, it wasn’t an oncoming train.
Fall appears to have arrived in Las Vegas finally. For the first time this year, the air is cool in the morning, which tells you that fall is right around the corner. We don’t look for the leaves to turn, as palm trees don’t have leaves.
After suffering through four months of hot weather, we can breathe easily for the next six months or so. The tradeoff for a hot summer is no tornados, no hurricanes, and few weather problems except for the heat.
I have a media server on which I put movies and TV shows I might watch one day. Browsing through the files, I came across “Hot Girls Wanted” and was instantly in love. Who couldn’t resist a show about hot girls? As it turned out, this was a documentary about young girls who get sucked into the amateur porn business. And it wasn’t a pretty sight.
First of all, the show was meant for mainstream viewing, and so the dirty parts were all blurred out, darn. No matter how much of a pervert you are, you have to feel sorry for this group of minimally educated, low-income high school graduates going to Florida in response to online ads for fame and fortune.
